outfit of the day: going overboard

what I wore: Caniche blouse and bracelet, Old Navy shorts, Shoe Show sandals, and gifted earrings and gold bracelet   A twist on a nautical look. I'm probably going overboard on the stripes, but it is definitely my favorite look for summer time! My husband took me out on a date. He took me for a downtown stroll in the evening. I love our downtown, historic and cute boutiques! We stopped by boutiques, antique shop, candy shop and an old bookstore. He even got me the top i'm wearing in today's outfit. After we enjoyed listening to a band, the ultimate eagles tribute band. A great date night spent with my husband!   date night photos: left to right (candy shop on main, literary book post, and Okey Dokey antique shop)

farmer's day 2013

My husband, myself, cousin Kit and Serena ventured out into the hot weather on Saturday to Farmer's day. Much like a farmer's market, but with more vendors and people. We enjoyed home made strawberry ice cream and Muscadine slushie in this warm weather. Muscadine is widely grown in the southern states of the U.S. It is a type of berry and can be eaten raw or made into wine. I love Muscadine wine. I ran into a vendor who made home made hot salsa from Wilmington area. I got a jar of his salsa. I'm excited to have some with tortilla chips. A lot of vendors had homemade crafts and food to sale. My cousin Noah and his family/girlfriend were out at a stand making their awesome chicken kabobs on this day. Vintage cars and tractors were on display, and my cousin Kit enjoyed the oversized tractors and vintage ambulance. Bands and clowns making balloons were set up for family entertainment. A great family time!

outift of the day: aye aye captain

what I wore: Jcpenny's shirt, Old Navy shorts, shoe show sandals, Caniche necklace and earrings   I love a nautical look for the summertime! Add some stripes to your look for a nautical look too!

outfit of the day: maximizing a dress

What I wore: Target multi way maxi dress and fedora hat, Caniche Infinity necklace, Gifted gold bracelets.   This is my go to dress. It can be dressed ANYWAY because it goes multiple ways! After attending weddings/events I spent a lot buying different dresses for each event. So, to budget/save I opted for this maxi dress that can instantly change it's form. It can be a strapless for the day out and then instantly turn to a one shoulder evening dress. It seriously amuses me, because I can go out to lunch with some friends and go into a room and change the dress to an evening out dress.   Check out the many different ways here:

my most favorite moment

Happy one month anniversary to me and my hubby! I promise not to countdown every month, but It's just astonishing that we've been married for a month now. My first full month as a Mrs. was a breeze. Well other than jumping hoops to get my new last name on everything (govt docs, bank docs, work etc)! I wish there was a button to change everything at once. The titles have been surreal, "husband and wife". We're loving it but it still surprises us sometimes haha. Having a new signature has been a challenge, but I'm definitely memorizing it. The UPS guy has been a help for me. I practice signing my new name lol. We're going on our honeymoon soon! We decided for a later honeymoon. I'm glad, because I would've slept our entire week there. I'm excited to go on vacation to Disney World. We'll be spending the week at the many different parks: Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom. We'll be staying at a Victorian villa nearby Dis
