kiengkham's korner: snow 2.24

Last week we had ice and I was able to capture a little bit of it.  Ice is never fun to drive in. Souwan and I were not able to drive to work.  Souwan worked from his laptop and I watched tons of talk shows. It snowed today. We got about a two inches, but it didn't cover the roads too bad. I was able to go to work, but the traffic was awful. It made me want to turn around and go back home. We saw about 5 accidents on the way to work. The snow was really pretty to watch fall and wake up to, however a nightmare to drive in. We're due for more snow Wednesday and Thursday. It will be a great sight to see, but nightmare for those who work.

Kiengkham's Korner: Valentine's Day 2015

This year for Valentine's Day we had a full week of dates. Souwan and I went on a date to the Japanese Steakhouse for some steak and chicken dinner. We usually go on a date each week. It was a great time. I had not been there in a long time and forgot how entertaining it was to watch the chef's make our dinner. I enjoyed the onion volcano, a picture is below.     Souwan has a sweet tooth and Valentine's day was his excuse to eat lots of chocolate and cupcakes. I helped make the cupcakes, but morning sickness didn't allow me to finish. LOL.     I loved our fondue date. We dipped all of these fruits into various chocolates.     Souwan surprised me with Swarovski crystal jewelry. I was very shocked and loved it!     We went out to dinner with family and friends for a Valentine's party at a Thai sushi and bar restaurant. I thought it was nice to spend Valentine's Day not just with my husband, but with family and friends.

kiengkham's korner: all things awesome!

I haven't posted a coupon haul in some time. We have been keeping up weekly, however I am just slow at posting. In this haul the before total was $52.51 and after coupons the total was $9.38!!   In this haul the wipes are always a win for me. Souwan got some really great quality shaving cream. He also got Excedrin for his migraines and really enjoys the Dole shaker smoothies. The nutella was a total score! The bathroom cleaner was a winner too. All for $9.38!   Souwan made two book purchases from half.com. A great site to buy books and movies for less! I've started to read them and they are both great books. A lot of great information for first time moms.       Our friend Gary made this amazing cedar chest. He made this guys, I'm so amazed by his talent! This was an awesome gift and we are so excited to give it a home. The pictures doesn't do it justice. I took this photo with my phone. I will take a better photo once we have it put in a perfect spo

project nursery: cribs & themes

Our family (my mom, brother, Souwan and I) decided to plan out the big ticket items for the baby's nursery.  This trip was to get an idea of what we liked and did not like in reference to the baby's crib, changing station, chair, stroller and dresser. We were on a mission during this trip.  Our first stop was Ikea!  Here we did not see any standout cribs but we got a lot of design ideas for the changing station, room and closet.    Souwan thought this bib was the neatest thing! I had to take a picture of it.   Our next stop was Target.  Target did not have a lot of selection but the cribs were reasonably priced.  They had great designs for their baby selection.  This convertible cribs and chair was our favorite here.   Our last stop was Babies"R"Us.  We did not realize how big this store was, but they had great selections of cribs with different styles and price range.  Below are some of our favorites.
