Charlotte NC Engagement- Maurice + KaShara

Although we had overcast weather and it was in the 60s, this engagement session turned out to be the best! There wasn't any wind and these two are wonderful! Souwan, Haylee and I drove out to the Noda area of Charlotte to meet with Maurice and KaShara at Amelie's. I had a wonderful time getting to know all about the two of them and details about their upcoming fall wedding. As soon as KaShara and Maurice walked in with huge smiles and hugs, I knew this was going to be a great couple to work with! I have known Maurice since college and was so thrilled that they reached out to me on Instagram. I easily fell in love with KaShara and just knew this is a match! We went out to Noda and our old college stomping ground Frazier Park behind Johnson & Wales. Noda is filled with really great places to photograph from all the beautiful buildings and the artistic work! Frazier Park brought back memories for all of us! They have the cutest furbabies who they used to bring to Frazier. I lo...

Salisbury NC Portraits - Allison

It was going to rain and it was very cloudy this Saturday afternoon. The sun tried to peek through the clouds and they passed one by one. It was also very very cold! Right behind me was a couple of blankets to keep warm during little breaks. Allison wanted to start the New Year with "new me" photos. She messaged me about coming in to town and wanted to document (CELEBRATE) this joyful chapter in her life. I was so excited!! I've been trying to get her in front of the camera! I've known her since I was 4 years old. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! Thank you for putting up with me LOL. I cannot thank her enough for supporting me even before Davong Marie photography. She saw DMP before it was even a thing! She walked into my office with a warm smile and it was just like it was when we were in school except it would be my bedroom and a Kodak camera.  Glad we documented this joyful chapter and I can't wait to have her back again! Such a wonderful way to begin the New Ye...

Salisbury NC- Portraits - Ross

Our feets and cheeks were cold in the freezing temperatures but it was worth it for these photos!!! We met up with Ross and his fur babies in the early morning and snow was starting to melt off the roofs of buildings. We had to reschedule his session the day before because our city got its first snowfall of the year! We didn't want to risk safety even though we didn't mind the cold! While it wasn't much, I enjoyed watching the snow fall with Haylee.  I love when families return every year for their Christmas portraits! I'm so happy Ross and his fur babies came all the way to us for photos. I wasn't able to travel to them because of my other engagements that day. It means so much to us! He doesn't live in the same city but comes for holiday photos every year. I think this year the photos were the best yet! Ross wanted to have this Christmas tree with his fur babies and how could I say no to them?! Enjoy my favorites from their session!

faith fair

The Faith fair has become an annual Fourth of July tradition for our little family. It's the one time of year I treat myself to a funnel cake! Yum! The BBQ and ice cream at the fair always seem to taste better. Haylee was tall enough to ride a couple of the rides at the fair this year. The under sea adventure was the ride she and Souwan could go on together. She didn't really enjoy the ride as much as watching the other kids. She smiled but no loud noises of excitement from her. I really hope she warms up to it because we're taking her to Disney this fall and this was her trial run! We will just say she did not have a nap yet and was moody. Yep! I'm going with that. Haylee did enjoy the fishing game. She got 3 tries and 2 of them she caught a shark. She got to pick a stuffed animal from the "medium" collection of prizes hanging. Her choice was a donut. Out of all the cute little animals, Haylee picks a donut. Yes, she is mine. Haha! The fourth is ...
