The Polar Express & Festival of Trees - North Carolina

Our 2nd year at the Polar Express was a success! Haylee loved the trains and said "All aboard" as they went by. We experienced "snow" falling for the first of the season. Not real snow. She loved it and twirled through it. I was a bit nervous with her sitting with Santa, however she walked right up to him! I was so happily surprised! She told him what she wanted for Christmas. So sweet!  After the Polar Express we went to the Festival of Trees at the F&M Trolley Barn. So many beautifully decorated trees and so creatively decorated by many different sponsors! I'm pretty sure Haylee voted for Minnie. I took way too many photos so i'll post the rest to facebook!  Enjoy a few of our photos below.  (photo credit: DPD Events)

faith fair

The Faith fair has become an annual Fourth of July tradition for our little family. It's the one time of year I treat myself to a funnel cake! Yum! The BBQ and ice cream at the fair always seem to taste better. Haylee was tall enough to ride a couple of the rides at the fair this year. The under sea adventure was the ride she and Souwan could go on together. She didn't really enjoy the ride as much as watching the other kids. She smiled but no loud noises of excitement from her. I really hope she warms up to it because we're taking her to Disney this fall and this was her trial run! We will just say she did not have a nap yet and was moody. Yep! I'm going with that. Haylee did enjoy the fishing game. She got 3 tries and 2 of them she caught a shark. She got to pick a stuffed animal from the "medium" collection of prizes hanging. Her choice was a donut. Out of all the cute little animals, Haylee picks a donut. Yes, she is mine. Haha! The fourth is usually

Cheerwine 100th Birthday in Downtown Salisbury NC

It was a extremely warm day in Downtown Salisbury, but thousands showed up to celebrate Cheerwine's 100th birthday on May 20th. There was a huge crowd and turnout for the festivities! I've never seen Salisbury with so many Cheerwine fans. I loved it!!! I love Cheerwine! Cheerwine is definitely a local legend here in our town. If ya didn't know Cheerwine is made here in Salisbury!  I love that they are local and have made such a mark on Salisbury. Cheerwine is definitely a favorite in our household with it's sweet cherry goodness!!! My daughter is only one but loves when I give her a sip of my Cheerwine. She could probably have the whole cup if I let her. We enjoyed the BBQ food trucks! They were great with the free Cheerwine! Our favorite was Nana's Porch. We even voted for them in the BBQ contest. Check out photos from the Cheerwine bash below!
