our easy garden tips

In the past years we made a huge garden, but after having Haylee we couldn't take care of a big garden. Souwan and I still wanted to have a garden because we love growing our own food. I feel like i'm being healthy that way because of the gmo, artificial this and that going into our bodies. And maybe it makes up for not working out. LOL. Souwan and I also both grew up having gardens. My mom would give me my own space to plant vegetables and flowers as a kid. I planted sunflowers and cucumbers. I believe I did other plants, however I can only remember those. I have photos at my mom's house in the garden during summer. I did photo shoots with my sunflowers. Nothing changes haha! Now that Haylee is able to water plants we have a place for her vegetables. She has peppers and green beans! She loves being outside in the garden and watering the plants. Mostly because she gets to play with water. Ha! (it's on our family Instagram and fb page Kiengkham Family Adventures) We deci...

kiengkham's korner: save $160!

We had a low key week. After travelling to Alabama we wanted to stay around the house. Souwan and I did a major coupon shopping haul this week with all of our extra time. There was yard work, gardening, cleaning, laundry, unpacking, church and grocery shopping. Side note, we had a fun lunch with the pastor, his wife and some other church family at Cracker Barrel. We were able to purchase a lot of items this weekend. Our biggest haul to date. Before coupons we spent $182.57 and after coupons we spent $15.57! I can feel us reaching our goal. We have been saving for a heat pump and a trip to Disney World.   Our garden is doing good. We used some basil and cilantro for my Pho.     Souwan wanted pho this week. I think I could live off this noodle soup! We used a lot of veggies from our garden for garnish. The jalopenos are from my friend's garden. Yummy!   Souwan made a broccoli casserole.     I ma...

kiengkham's korner: berry sweet baptisim

(Souwan's the blog title master lol) My cousin's were baptized this past weekend. We celebrated with family and friends. My uncle has a huge garden and we picked a bag full of blueberries and blackberries. I saw a few black eyed Susan's and they are so pretty. Souwan just planted some in our yard and expect them to bloom in the fall. Our couponing stock pile continues. We're working towards saving for our heat pump and a trip to Disney World with our family next year! I have two week's worth to share.   Before coupons = $76.47 After coupons = $ 24.78 Savings of $51.69!   Our garden continues to grow. We are waiting on our watermelons and there are new cucumbers growing. We picked the basil, peppers and tomatoes. Souwan and I have made several of our favorite dishes and snacks with our vegetables.    Noodle Stir fry     Grilled chicken and Asian style Cole slaw   ...
