kiengkham's korner: world market

(iPhone photo)   This past week we shopped! My husband and I went shopping at the mall and then stopped by the World Market. I had never been in one. I have items from my brother and have been eager to try it out. The World Market is exactly how it sounds. A market of all worldly products from furniture to food. My husband and I finished our wine rack space with wine from Italy, New Zealand, and South Africa. We continued our shopping at Lowe's.   We are getting into Spring here in the Kiengkham home and bought flowers for our yard/garden. Our flower bulbs and hydrangea plants are from Lowe's. We are waiting to get our veggie plants later in March. Souwan is hoping for a willow tree too. He has always wanted one. I love flowers and hope to plant a beautiful garden of veggies and flowers in the Spring!   On another note, my flowers from Valentine's day are slowly wilting. The daisy and lily are still in bloom. One lily is a new bloom. It is so beautifu

mondays with mark: Genii MV inspired

Thanksgiving passed too fast! Did it not? I hope everyone enjoyed being with family and friends. Don't forget today is cyber Monday and Mark has deals still going on til midnight! Go to my store and check that out. *** Today I was inspired to do a look by one of the ladies from Lao pop group Genii. Her name is Thiphasone Tpv. (Let me know if I got the wrong name.) These three girls are gorgeous and talented. Check out there latest music video "Bor sai jai tee huk hao job." It is very feminine and fairy tale like. I was attracted to Thiphasone's makeup the most. She has a wing eyeliner (my fave), a pale pink cheek, and girly pink lips. See below my inspired look. (screenshots of Genii are from facebook and youtube) Overall this look is one of my favorites. It makes a great day time look! This look would work on anyone too. turkey day

It's tradition to have everyone over at Grandma's house for Thanksgiving. Take a look at all the homemade food. I have made it my own tradition to bring mac and cheese. This year I added a dessert, pumpkin cupcakes. If you follow me on twitter/facebook you may have saw it came in 2nd in Connextions Cupcake Wars. That meant nothing to my family ha! As the boys said "We will be the judges of that." I think they still loved it. You may notice food here that is non traditional. My family has an Asian background and we mix it! I love it because we get to enjoy the best of both worlds! To follow tradition we ate and next enjoyed the Packers and Lions game. Soon after we travelled over to our home to put the Christmas tree and decor up. After some black Friday shopping (not including me-i was working) the boys, bestie, and I had dinner with some drinking. Red muscadine wine-YUM! I tried red moscato too, soooo delish! I made a VLOG too. Take an inside look at our festivit

a house warming

It is tradition when Thai/Lao people bring a monk to bless the new home. Everyone will come together to bless the home and family with offering food/snacks & money to the monk. Afterwards there was a su kwan to tie strings (prayer bracelets) on family members to bless them with luck and prosperity. Then the family will eat and party together at the new home. My cousins home is now blessed! Don't forget to enter the giveaway (free stuff) click here to read more!!
