Kiengkham's Korner: weekly photos

Over the weekend it was a yard project type of weekend. Souwan woke up early on Saturday with our neighbor to cut down a tree. Don't worry it was far from anyone's home! haha! I didn't capture the tree coming down because the baby and I were still asleep. I did wake up to the clean up process and was so proud of my hubby! Meanwhile, I was inside making breakfast and some coffee for him. I knew he didn't have any yet.   We're planning to use pieces of the tree as sitting area around the fire pit in the backyard. We got the idea from my aunt and uncle. It'll be a nice setting! We just need some friends and family to come roast some smore's with us.     Later on I joined Souwan out in the yard to spread the mulch. This year we got bags from Home Depot. Approx 35 bags of mulch! I think the mulch adds a great curb appeal.     Some of my flowers are coming back!     We bought more flowers for the porch and flower beds in ...

Kiengkham's Korner: spring things

March Madness has taken over the Kiengkham home. My husband and I filled out our brackets. Let's just say we will not be winning that billion dollar prize. My bracket completely was destroyed after the second round! How did you guys do?! A lot of upsets, right?! It is our first spring season in our new home. We are anxious to start planting flowers and vegetables! My brother and husband spent the afternoon shopping for the best deals on flowers. They found great deals at home depot and Lowe's. My husband purchased bamboo trees, hostas, snow cones, azaleas, ballerina reds, and a cypress (who I named prince harry cause he looks like a harry). The boys in my family spent the day cutting tree limbs, weed killing, grass cutting and planting. It is pretty exciting! I am excited to share weekly updates with you all. This year I get to create a garden and see it from start to bloom! My friends and I got together for dinner. It was a Mexican themed dinner. I made...

fall favorite

Fall is here on the East coast. You can feel the cold weather. Boots and coats are all out. I. Love. Fall!! ONLY the East coast can have the perfect fall for me. I love the colorful leaves most. The boys and I ventured out to Old Salem. Doesn't the town name make you want to curl up and watch Hocus Pocus! My fave Halloween movie. If you have not seen this movie, shame on you. Old salem was a new place for me. We walked around the town. The leaves were just starting to change, but it was such a nice Sunday afternoon. Ok here is a personal shout out. Today is one of my best frannnns birthday. I cannot be with her on this day because she is serving our country. And yes i'm mentioning this again on my blog. I cannot thank her and our soldiers enough! Happy Birthday dearest friend of mine!! Oh the hat i'm wearing is the boyfriend's gift to Dina for her birthday haha. We could not wait to show you (Dina) and sorry I could not ship it off to you.

birthday series part 3

Mahi Wrap. Yum! Coconut Shrimp   Pina Colada After Boone Hall we went to the beach. Instead of going to Folly we chose something new. We went to Isle of Palms. It was really nice! A lot more commercial than Folly. It had better parking access too. Folly parking can be a disaster. I will def be going back. Hopefully with my fam or Souwan's next time. Wish we knew to go to this beach with S, Kim and Souwan's fam. Sighs. Next time! All of us had lunch at Joe's right on the beach. It was a great day to sit on the patio to eat. After we walked around in the sand a bit. Then we went to Waterfront to hang out before going to dinner at AW Shucks. At shucks they had a great pina colada. I preferred it over Joe's pina colada. I was exhausted after everything! That ended day two of the birthday celebration. The next day we went out to see the Angel Oak tree. The tree is over 1000 years old. It is a spectacular tree! The limbs are the size of me and bigger. Go check ...
