"Fashion is architecture; it is a matter of proportions"- Coco Chanel

Being petite and trying to find clothes can be tricky. Some places I think are great for petite women are the following: Ann Taylor, ASOS, Forever 21, Dress Barn, Banana Republic, and Talbots. There are plenty more, but those are ones that come to mind. Most of these have petite sections.

Pants: Pants can make you look longer or shorter. For petite women I think it would be best to stay far away from crop pants. I also stay away from high waisted pants. My torso is short enough. Try flared legs or Skinny pants.

Skirts: Anything past the knee for me is a definite no. A great rule of thumb. It makes a huge difference! Skirts below the knee make me appear heavier. My fave style of skirt is the pencil skirt. A-Line and pleated are great choices too!

Blouses: Try pin stripes in vertical patterns. These make the person appear long and lean. I try to avoid horizontal stripes as they make me seem wider. Get rid of loose and baggy clothes. They do not flatter our petite frame. I love collared dress shirts, they look great on petite women. Add a belt to your top to cinch the waist to show off your waistline. Great rule of thumb is to always accentuate the waistline! Hint: the thrift store has an awesome selection of belts and they run .50 cents to a buck!

Dresses: I love wrap dresses. I think this works for any woman out there. This most definitely includes us petite girls!

Coats/blazers/jackets: Go for something that defines your waist. For me if the coat or blazer falls below my torso it makes me look shorter.

Shoes: invest in nude shoes! I could never have too many nude shoes. These elongate your legs and make the petite woman appear taller. And your legs don't look so bad either ^_~

Have fun with your wardrobe. Express who you are. If you feel good then you look good!

XOXO

outfit of the day: outdoor fall look

what i wore: gap long sleeve top, target jeggings and boots, belk's bag   I wore this to my cousin's birthday party. It was a lovely fall day, sunny and perfect cool weather for a game of corn hole. We also had lunch and drinks out on their patio. This outfit was great for the outdoor activities and a birthday gathering.     Thank you for reading. Have a lovely rest of the week!

outfit of the day: casual denim shorts and sperry's

what i wore: cynthia rowley tee, american eagle shorts, thrifted belt, juicy couture bracelet, belk's charm bracelet, old navy aviator shades, sperry's top-sider boat shoes. I wore this out for a few errands with the fiance. My car battery needed replacing, I have worn that thing out. Ex. leaving it on while taking naps during lunch. Don't do this ladies. Ha! This look is so comfy and definitely a repeat when I'm running around town.

outfit of the day: classic vest

what i wore: express button up, old navy vest, f21 jeans, gift boots.   Classic pieces stay for a lifetime. I have had this vest for a long time. Traditional yet in style. Not popular, but likable. A little bit of old fashion and tradition may not be popular, may go back "50 years" but this vest seems to never fade out of style for me.
