There are always something new at the Zoo. Some things we discovered on this zoo trip that really surprised me:
1. The zoo is involved in research with the World Wildlife Fund. You can donate at the gift shops! We did it!
2. It's the largest Zoo in the world!
3.If you are a member of AAA you must go see the zoo because you get a discount!!
4.The NC Zoo has the largest chimpanzee habitat.
5. Right now the attractions are North America & Africa habitats but they will be adding Asia next. I'm really excited to see if they have pandas!!
6. They have a 2 mile hiking trail after you leave the African habitats. This was so much fun with our good friends and their babies.
7. You can zip line in the zoo!
The NC Zoo in June was super hot with slight breezes. I was so grateful when we got those breezes of cool air. Every where we walked the sun was shining on us. Everyone was wearing their sunglasses, sunscreen, and summer attire. In case you didn't know, the uniform was shorts and tanks with sneakers. I believe if you didn't own a battery operated fan then you didn't get the memo that day because everyone else carried one. I think we were all wishing it was October so we could get some cool air.
The NC Zoo is so much fun. All the wildlife in their habitats are so amazing. Even the walk through the zoo can be super fun. They have so many beautiful flowers, sculptures and kid friendly play areas. It was Haylee's first time at the zoo. She got to have her little girlfriends Lia and Hazel with her which made the trip even better! I had a great time with my friends and i'm glad we got to take this trip to the zoo! They are awesome! We helped each other with keeping up with all the girls and sharing snacks and juice! They are total lifesavers!! Not all of the animals were out for us to see. Maybe they partied to hard on Saturday night. haha! The African habitats are my favorite part, but the desert was so freaking pretty during the day! I wish we had a desert here in NC because I could take photos there all day. I love seeing the lions, elephants and chimpanzees. The lions, however were not as fun because they were asleep. The giraffes were the funniest, you will see below where one of them were sniffing another's butt and got the crowd really laughing out loud.
Thank you to my girlfriends Petra, Emma and their husbands for inviting us. We enjoyed it so much!
