Last weekend my family and I took a trip to the Grandfather Mountain. Grandfather Mountain is located in Linville, North Carolina. It is apart of the Appalachain Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway can be located on the south side of the mountain. Grandfather Mountain rises more than 4,000 feet. It hosts the scottish Highland Games and also has the mile high swinging bridge. The Grandfather mountain also holds the record for highest surface winds speeds.
My family arrived there and hiked up the mountain to the infamous swinging bridge. I went there when i was young and remember the swinging bridge and that it used to be made of wood and chains. They have since changed the bridge. It still swings and it makes a sort of music when the winds come through. It was a very windy day and it felt colder at the top. We also stopped at the museum and ran into the same old statue of a bear that was there when i was young that my mother put us in front of for a photo op. My brother and I decided to remake that photo.
