makeup monday: back to school

back to school makeup by lisaanatha featuring mark cosmetics An easy back to school look that is quick! 1. mark concealer is one of the best! apply (dab) it under your eyes, top of your lips, and on your chin. Also dab some on any red spots or blemishes. Blend it in downward motion. 2. Mark on the dot neutral palette. If you love urban decay's naked palette, but don't want to break the bank, mark's neutral palette is outstanding. (You are in school and with not so much funds) 3. E.L.F gel eyeliner is fantastic and of great quality for less. Most days I skip out if i am in a hurry. 4. Loreal Volumious false fiber mascara makes your eyelashes super long. 5. Maybelline pure blush mineral in opal rose is my favorite for fall/winter. It gives you this "i've been outside in the cool weather and have rosy cheeks from the temp" look LOL. Of course it looks natural.  (sorry this is not in my photo above or my neutral look above.) 6.  Last an...

mondays with mark: NYE look

I still have not finished my shopping. It will be gift cards for everyone left. I am exhausted running around during this time of year. Now with Christmas winding down I will try posting New Years Eve (NYE) looks. When I think of NYE makeup glitter, sparkle, sequins all come to mind. Every year we have a get together with a couple of friends and family. We ring in the New Year with lots of drinking and playing games. So fun! Anyone have any amazing NYE plans? Here is a look that is somewhat familiar. The gold/yellow and black eye makeup I have done in the past. This time around there is a little sparkle in there. I'm not sure you can tell by the photos, but yellow sparkle dust was added to my lids on top of my eye makeup. Eyes : Mark super flip for it in taxi and black tie. NY color shimmering loose in sunshine. Loreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara, Blackest Black Cheeks : Nars in orgasm Lips : Revlon peach parfait lip butter Giveaway winner... The g...

MMW: pleasant in pink & announcement

Eyes: mark super flip for it in peep wet n wild eyeliner # 886 Lips: Wet n Wild #528A Cheeks: Maybelline Mineral naturally luminous blush in fresh plum For my friend's wedding (click here if you missed the Anglin wedding) I chose to wear pink eye makeup, pink lips and pink cheeks. I thought this would go great with my red dress (click here if you missed my red dress) . This was a very subtle look. Not much on camera, sry! A light color on dark complextion does not do very well for the camera. Overall this was a good look for an afternoon wedding. It was still pretty. I did not want to do a smokey or dark look. That would be more suited for an evening wedding. Lisa's Mark Store will be participating in Crestmont at Ballantyne's Vendor Show! Come out to shop with us. Give the gift of gorgeous! Other vendors: CRYSTYLE LA ,THIRTY-ONE, AVON, PAMPERED CHEF, CREATIVEMEMORIES, ART, POSH, and GIFT BASKETS. Saturday November 12th from 5PM-7PM TTYL! ...

mondays with mark: Halloween treat!

(image by mint.com) Here is a treat for all of you candy lovers! I came across a yahoo article (no link sry!). The candy you like can tell a lot about your personality. Now this was done by scientists, you measure the accuracy. 1- Reese's cup and other chocolate peanut combos= you are creative, private, and misunderstood. 2- Granola= you are caring 3- Candy bars= throw a mean party and makes friends in every situation 4- Gummy bears= creative, artistic, impulsive I tried this test on some of my co-workers and they did not agree with their results. I love snickers (candy bars). This seems accurate haha! What about you? Is this accurate? Let me know below in the comments! For Halloween this year I dressed up was a witch. My makeup for this witch look was inspired by Hocus Pocus and the stereotypical witch. Instead of a green face and crooked teeth I went for more of a cute look. With it being Halloween I went bolder on my lips and eyes! Eyes: wet n wild #886 ey...

mondays with mark: something borrowed

Over the weekend I bought a couple of movies. I'm a movie addict. I love staying curled up in a blanket watching movies on a weekend. It has been a couple of busy weekends, this was a restful one. I watched the Royal Wedding on dvd (yes you can buy that on dvd lol) and Something Borrowed. I adored Something Borrowed starring Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson. Ginnifer is such a cutie! In this movie Rachel (Goodwin) falls in love with Dex, but has not told him. When she finds the courage to, Dex is already engaged to her best friend Darcy(Hudson)! Will she keep her love hidden to keep her childhood friend or will she go after her love?! What to do?!! Today I was inspired by Rachel's makeup in this one scene. Take a look. It's October and time for another giveaway. The spa giveaway from last month will go to Dina. Thank you so much for helping with shelterbox! She will receive a $25 gift card to the spa of her choice. So thanks again! Also, last month I spent time raising money for not only shelter box, but Susan G. Komen. Since they ran so close to each other shelterbox was not as successful, unfortunately. I was a little bummed about that. I did raise (with the help of my awesome coworkers) $630 for Susan G. Komen. So YAY! If you still want to help please do! Go to shelterbox or to my team page to help out. Let me know if you need links. You can also find them in my previous posts. Ok on to the contest. I want to try something new. mondays with mark: makeup in 10 minutes

LOL ok this is probably the only close up of me. (one that I could find anyway) I'm laughing at how serious my facial expression is. In this picture I was reading something on the wall at Boone Hall Plantation. More trip pics to come! I went on vacation for my 25th birthday to Charleston, SC. Makeup on the road for me has to be fast. In Charleston it is hoooottttt and humid. Humidity kills me. I think of makeup sweating off and hair is flat. I do not even want to try to curl my hair. It goes flat within seconds of stepping out. My makeup has to be water proof or it will all sweat away. My makeup is what I want to discuss. Vacay makeup! This is important because: 1. For me- massive haul of makeup is not necessary. 2. Take what is appropriate. I was going to a humid place and would be on the go, touring and site seeing all day long. I was not going to any glam events so it did not make much sense to bring out all the glitz and glam colors. 3. We were on a time crunch/schedule....

mondays with mark: sneak peek mark super flip for it

I just got my new mark super flip for it. I tweeted about it as soon as I ordered it. This flip for it is not available to everyone yet, just insiders. So you can say it was very exciting to get it. The flip for it had great reviews saying it was very pigmented and had great colors. Just looking at it the colors stood out. I haven't done swatches before, but I'll show all of you a peek at the colors. Maybe i'll do more in the future if this post is liked? This palette has nine bold colors and three cheek illuminator shades on the other side. I have not used these colors yet so I will not say much. They are pigmented and are very pretty colors. The illuminators are great. With the different shades I can use them as my skin color changes thru the months. This palette comes in a cute pink compact. Its a metallic pink and I love it. It has a mirror and of course flips. This palette is great for on the go and maybe trips. What palette is your fave? Are you excited at tryin...

Makeup is one of them. I go nuts in a makeup store like Sephora or Ulta. We could be in there for hours! There is a vlog coming soon on my shopping trip in Sephora. Gawd I love that store. Too bad they don't carry mark there, right?! I was shopping with my girlfriend and it was on her list of places she wanted to look. Well you cannot take me into a makeup store and expect me to behave. I was going up and down the aisles and stopping to try EVERYTHING. Brands that were a must on my list were: nars, makeup forever, and urban decay. I was sooo impressed with urban decay's 15 year palette. Amazing, outstanding, & brilliant!! Too bad they are on the higher end of brands. I may go back and splurge. I left with a couple of things: nars blush called orgasm (Yes that ...

mondays with mark: color blocking

My ballet poses! I felt like a pretty ballerina in this makeup and my hair in a bun. And my ballerina gear from Ralph Lauren? LOL! BTW I was not a ballerina, (because I had you fooled-Right) but I did have lessons in Thai/Lao traditional dance. ^_^ But Ballerina's are so pretty and graceful! A trend that I have been seeing is color blocking in fashion, but beauty too. This looked really sweet on a model I saw. She had navy and purple. In color blocking you can match sooo many different color combos. Blue/purple, yellow/blue, green/blue, green/yellow, pink/purple, pink/blue SOOO many! It could go on for days. I paired purple and yellow together for my look. It was challenging to find a match. I wanted to do them all.
