biltmore {finale}

The roses and the conservatory were the last bit of this Biltmore garden tour. The Biltmore has many gardens and we visited just two parts. It was very beautiful. I loved the roses and the hydrageas most! I had no idea how many different roses there were until I saw the rose garden. I fell in love!

birthday series the finale!

The last of the series! Are we sad? I was! Charleston was so amazing for my birthday. I hope you all enjoyed the pictures. I took over 800+. Too many to share. If you are ever in South Carolina -Charleston is a must stop and see. It is way too gorgeous. I cannot resist history and art. And if you cannot then you must see Charleston. Thank you again everyone for making my 25th birthday special! I got an overwhelming amount of love and it meant a lot to me. So cheesy, but so true. Funny story. This past Friday my boys (cousins are majority boys) came over for movie night and surprised me with Oreo cookie cake. Some of them did not get to celebrate with me. Get this...one slice has 760 calories! O-M-G. I was like "nooo don't do this to me" LOL. Ok well that was my weak moment. Thank you Thank you all. =) We visited Patriots Pointe and Fort Sumter on the last day. Fort Sumter is significant in the Civil war. The first shots were fired from Fort Sumter. Of course Fort Sumter...

birthday series part 3

Mahi Wrap. Yum! Coconut Shrimp   Pina Colada After Boone Hall we went to the beach. Instead of going to Folly we chose something new. We went to Isle of Palms. It was really nice! A lot more commercial than Folly. It had better parking access too. Folly parking can be a disaster. I will def be going back. Hopefully with my fam or Souwan's next time. Wish we knew to go to this beach with S, Kim and Souwan's fam. Sighs. Next time! All of us had lunch at Joe's right on the beach. It was a great day to sit on the patio to eat. After we walked around in the sand a bit. Then we went to Waterfront to hang out before going to dinner at AW Shucks. At shucks they had a great pina colada. I preferred it over Joe's pina colada. I was exhausted after everything! That ended day two of the birthday celebration. The next day we went out to see the Angel Oak tree. The tree is over 1000 years old. It is a spectacular tree! The limbs are the size of me and bigger. Go check ...

birthday series-part two

Here is part two of my birthday trip to Charleston, SC. One of the many places we visited. This is Boone Hall Plantation. The Notebook and Queen (movies) used Boone Hall plantation for location. It is a very popular tourist attraction in South Carolina. I can see why! There is so much history and beauty on this plantation. I adored the oak trees. Boone Hall plantation has the oldest and most preserved slave homes.  A farm is located on the grounds. You can buy local veggies at the market. We learned a lot! A must see! birthday series-part 1

As you might already know I visited Charleston for my birthday. It was an event filled weekend. We went to Tanger outlet, the Battery, Waterfront, Crab house, AW Shucks, Patriots Point/ Fort Sumter, Isle of Palms, and Boone Hall Plantation. Some old and some new places. Recvd tons of love for my bday. Thank you everyone for making it soooo special!!! On the first day we visited Tanger Outlet. It is an outlet mall with great scenery. Tanger is an outside mall filled with palm trees and antebellum like buildings. There was a lot of sales going on and I spent majority of my birthday money here. Afterwards we spent some time at the Battery and Waterfront park before dinner at Crab house. It was a new experience because the sun was setting and we saw dolphins. Had a notebook moment (Nicholas Sparks "The Notebook" film had parts filmed in Charleston) Seafood at Crab house. YUM!

mondays with mark: makeup in 10 minutes

LOL ok this is probably the only close up of me. (one that I could find anyway) I'm laughing at how serious my facial expression is. In this picture I was reading something on the wall at Boone Hall Plantation. More trip pics to come! I went on vacation for my 25th birthday to Charleston, SC. Makeup on the road for me has to be fast. In Charleston it is hoooottttt and humid. Humidity kills me. I think of makeup sweating off and hair is flat. I do not even want to try to curl my hair. It goes flat within seconds of stepping out. My makeup has to be water proof or it will all sweat away. My makeup is what I want to discuss. Vacay makeup! This is important because: 1. For me- massive haul of makeup is not necessary. 2. Take what is appropriate. I was going to a humid place and would be on the go, touring and site seeing all day long. I was not going to any glam events so it did not make much sense to bring out all the glitz and glam colors. 3. We were on a time crunch/schedule....
