smoothie & cheesecakes

For mom's birthday the family had dinner together at our home. My mom is a simple person when it comes to birthdays. Nothing extravagant. So scary how we both like the idea of just a simple birthday. I still say we are opposites in so many other ways. I will deny that we are anything alike til the day I die! Ha! She will say the same. For her big day we had burgers for dinner, smoothies, and cheesecakes. The cheesecakes were bought with various types. Blueberry, key lime, strawberry and orange cheesecakes. Delicious! We enjoyed every fattening bit of it too. Now working hard to get it off before the beach. Ha! Our drink choice was a strawberry mango smoothie. So good for the hot temps here! Strawberry/Mango Smoothie Recipe: 1 cup(s) fresh or frozen unsweetened strawberries 1 cup(s) mango or apricot nectar , chilled 1/2 cup(s) plain or vanilla yogurt 4 ice cubes In blender, combine strawberries, mango nectar, yogurt, and ice and blend until mixtur...

a royal drink for the royal wedding

by Souwan If you have not noticed Lisa has been infatuated over the royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine. She has been raving over Catherine more than anything. Lisa has her DVR and alarm set to watch it tomorrow. She will be watching on BBC America. The wedding starts tomorrow at 4am {6am ceremony} our time for any who want to tune in. For this royal occasion I made us a royal flush beverage. How to make a Royal Flush: serving scale = 1 1 1/2 oz Crown Royal® Canadian whisky 1 oz peach schnapps 1/2 oz Chambord® raspberry liqueur 1 oz cranberry juice Pour ingredients into a tumbler over ice, strain into a glass, and serve.

Thirsty Thursday: "Happy Hour Special"

Hello world! Souwan dropping in. The first time I had this drink was at our friends' wedding. It was an open bar and this was my drink of choice. It's sweet and sour with a kick. If you want a little "punch" get a double whiskey sour, but be careful you might come home with a black eye. This drink sneaks up on you. Ingredients: 2 oz blended whiskey juice of 1/2 lemons 1 oz simple syrup ice cubes 1 slice of nectarine Mix the first five ingredients into a shaker. Shake vigourously. Strain in cup and decorate with the slice of nectarine. Enjoy!

Thirsty Thursday "Spring is on my Mind"

What sup guys! Souwan again...You know spring is coming when you wake up, walk outside, and your eyes automatically starts itching or tearing up.  Too bad that doesn't happen to me.  Now all this warm weather made me want something tropical, and Lisa read my mind when she gave me the idea of making "Pina Colada." Ingredients: White Rum Coconut Milk Pineapple Juice and wedge Crushed Ice Put the rum, coconut milk, and pineapple juice/wedge in a blender with some ice and blend until slushy.  Serve with pineapple wedges as garnish.  Enjoy!
