kiengkham's korner: halloween + home

Our Halloween was spent at our church this year. Souwan and I joined our church family for trunk or treat. If you've never been to trunk or treat, well you're missing out on family fun. We had games at each trunk and lots of treats. Every trunk had a theme, just to name a few: gone fishing, a coffin, and ours was Alice in Wonderland's queen of hearts/tea party. It was a fantastic night and we enjoyed being with all of the kids. Our grocery trip this week was great! We got more items for our holiday parties. The gravy mix & pumpkin filling are great for the holiday parties ( I love making cupcakes with the pumkin filling for Thanksgiving).  I am thrilled about getting new eye shadows. Some of these items we will be giving away to charity. I'm really happy we will be able to give some of these items to a good cause. Here is our total, we spent before = $102.54 and after coupons = $19.20!!! It's been a while since I update you...

I am excited to work on those and post them up here soon! Here are my favorites this week... Favorite shoes: These Tory Burch loafers are so adorable for the Fall. My favorite fall shoe for sure! Can't get enough!   (source) Favorite mantel: I am in the fall spirit. This mantel inspires me! One of my projects will be to give my mantel some fall touches. ...

house tour!

BEFORE     AFTER     It's crazy how amazing a home can look after some love and tender touch! I watched my brother and his business partner flip this home for a couple of months; I fell in love with it. This house was a lot of work as you can see from the Before photos. They fixed every bit of this home. On the outside they painted, put a new roof, took a part old wood, and added landscape. Inside the home they painted, fixed the termite issue by taking apart the wall and floors and replaced them. They added new light fixtures, cabinets, and repaired the hardwood floors. I think they did MUCH more than I am telling, but the fact is they did a fantastic job.   We love our 1940s cape cod home, every 1500 sq ft of it!! This is a dream come true. My husband and I look forward to all of the holidays going to be spent in this home. As you can see there are a lot of fall décor around our new home. I couldn't wait to sta...
