life lately no. 2

Hi Ya'll! This is my little corner of the world and we're happy you're here! I'll tell you what our family has been up to and give you more details than ya need. Ready?! Ok here we go! Zoo - We visited the Asheboro Zoo with some of our good friends and they brought their kids too. We had a fantastic day there. I insist you go because there is so much to explore and so fun with the kids! We are already planning another trip. ( Photos here )  July 4th - ( Photos here ) We visited the Faith fair and Haylee rode her first ride. I hope she likes Disney more than she did the rides at the fair. She also played a fishing game which she won and took home a prize. Ballet - Haylee joined a summer ballet/tap class in town. She enjoys it so much we plan on continuing it! Our good friend Emily teaches the class, which is the best. Haylee loves all of the moves she learns. Sometimes we come home and dance more.  Kickball - My husband joined a kickball league this summ...

top notch trench

Spring showers have started in our area. I like it because I get to wear my paisley trench coat. Isn't it cute?! After having a greek salad at the restaurant last week, we decided to make our own. We bought a greek vinegrette for it and tzatziki dip for bread. It was a great salad! The dip tasted delish with the toasted bread. I don't eat a lot of veggies and fruits. I wanted to try a smoothie that had all of that. This Naked brand smoothie is really good! It's got apples, kiwi, broccli, parsley and more in it. It looks funky, but tastes sweet and not bitter like I thought it would. St. Patricks day was this past Sunday. I'm not Irish, but I wore green! (this is actually what I wore today) (sunday i wore green but did not get photos) cardigan: old navy top: thrift necklace: kohls belt: thrift skirt: express

grabbed a greek date

Last week was a busy one. Our office had a launch party and I was lucky to be behind the scenes helping out. I never knew the effort it takes to throw one. I juggled my daily job duties along with party duties. It was exhausting, but very fun. A lot of planning, organizing and thought goes into every detail. Where do we place the signs, flowers, balloons? How do we place them?! My partner and I worked together on these flower arrangements. We took a solo cup, tissue paper, and ribbon to create this elegant vase/holder for the roses. Solo cups! I love solo cups! Brilliant! My fiance took me on a lunch date Saturday. It's been a while since we did that, but we had a nice day out. It was so pretty and felt like spring outside! He took me out to a Greek place near our home. (I'm in love with Greek salads) The gyro and homemade Greek chips were fantastic. Afterwards, he took me to one of his favorite bakeries. It was a cute, New York style bakery. I adored the strawberry cheese...

Souwan, a laundry snob

My boss is expecting his second child, a girl! After work the girls showered the happy family with gifts and food.I was in charge of decor and I think I have potential in being a florist =)   Date night! Souwan and I got Zaxby's and watched movies. I got boneless buffalo and it's very sweet and spicy, not my preference. The "things" was very good, try it!(ordered hot). I took my dad to try on suits and get measured for our wedding. He liked the blue suit he is sporting in this photo. He looks sharp! My mom, lee, souwan and I all went out to Sam's Club. They have outdoor furniture on display, it got me anxious for Spring/Summer time! My IPhone has a new case cover. The monogram is my soon to be intials "LAK". You're probably thinking why so early, not married yet? I didn't want to get another one in 4 months, that's why =) For lunch on Sunday we ate sliders. Staying healthy, but still getting in a burger. For Valenti...

weekly wrap up: goodbyes and birthdays

Before the nasty ice storm hit our area, I bravely went out into the icey weather. I picked up a cake for my co-worker/friend Kyle. We learned earlier in the week he has bieber fever after watching his televised movie. I have not seen it, but Kyle says good things about it. Ha! The ice started pouring down on my way into work and got worst into the day. We got less than an inch of ice, but driving on it was very tricky. I was able to leave work early. I had learned earlier in the week that my Great Uncle Ny had passed. It was a very sad moment for me. I remember the stories of how much he picked on me. He had a sense of humor that I will never forget. I know his laugh, it's engraved into my memory. His son and daughter look so much like him. It was comforting. "He lived a long and happy life", his son said to all of his family and friends who attended the funeral. His son could not hold in his sadness and neither could we. As our uncle cried, we did as well. He...

I enjoyed some with my cousin this weekend.   5th/6th- My dog/baby Mia after her walk.   7th- Last Souwan is washing dishes/house cleaning. We like to stay in our pajamas on the weekend. We catch up on cleaning on the weekends. He is such a good fiance and going to be a super husband!   How was yours?

weekend wrap up

This past weekend was very packed with activities. We had a walk for Susan G. Komen and my little cousin's birthday party. The race was filled with people, over 20,000 turned up and it was a beautiful morning for the race. On Sunday we spent time with the family celebrating a special six year old boy. He loves dancing, transformers, planes, and mario brothers.   Hope you had a fantastic weekend!
