kiengkham's korner: weekly photos

My husband purchased a new toy again. He purchased a gas cultivator/tiller. He tried to till the garden by hand for 20 minutes but saw little progress. We decided to go ahead with purchasing a gas tiller. It worked faster and was a lot easier for my husband. This was something we talked about purchasing for some time and we decided not to wait. We made a much larger garden this year. My husband and I learned a lot from our small garden last year and wanted to try a bigger project. I planted the corn Souwan's mom gave us, sun flowers, string beans, squash, cabbage and lettuce. I was tired and so very sore! I had to let Souwan handle the rest of the garden. A bigger project is a lot more work! I hope it will be very rewarding and we will see lots of delicious veggies!   I am planting the corn seeds Souwan's mom gave us here.     Our yard is looking good for the Spring. I love our yard this time of year! It looks it's best. I get a lot of...

Kiengkham's Korner: Lately....

My brother Lee made this for us as a Christmas present. It was a nice surprise. I really adore the vintage look of it! For Christmas we had all of our cards on it and now it looks empty. I'm still playing around with what to put on it. Right now it's just poinsettias left from Christmas and lanterns. I need to work more on the décor!  Our haul this week:  Before coupon - $87.64, After coupon - $14.90 My husband is making our favorite soup, Pho. I haven't been feeling well and he has been such a trooper around the house. I'm so blessed, and I know it! We gave up our Dish!! I've been trying to live frugal and another bill that we cut is the Dish bill. People usually cannot live with out their cable, but we're going to try it. We bought an antenna. It's not like the old fashion rabbit ears, but it's a thin flat square piece that sticks to the wall/window/back of television and it gives you 60 channels. Souwan and I also signed up for ...

what HE wore

Meet my husband, Souwan! He is such a huge support for me. He let me practice taking photos of him. I explored black & whites and overlays in these photo shots of him. I'm still learning what works and what doesn't! My husband is not first in line to have a pictures taken of him. He is usually the man behind the camera on all of my outfit posts. Let's give him applause for getting out of his comfort zone! A few facts about this man of mine: He is from Alabama and is proud of saying "Roll Tide". He works in Human Resources. He loves to cook. He (thinks he) is a handyman. He can eat anything and not gain a pound. He really likes me. At 4pm everyday he sends me a love message. He does not like cats.  He doesn't want you to know any of this. what he wore: Ralph Lauren Jacket and button up//Old Navy Jeans//Breather Wright boots

birthday bowling

I'm back! If you missed it, last week my computer crashed. My husband is working on repairing it. Until then I am on my new laptop! It has been interesting learning this new laptop and it's features. I am not tech savvy. When my co-worker (who is tech savvy) talks in his language, all I can do is blink! I wait for him to translate computer language. Ha! Since I last posted, I have been busy. We celebrated Souwan's birthday! The guys had a great time bowling and enjoying beer, while the girls got their own lane and enjoyed some old fashion line dancing. I think my cousin's love to dance (even when there is not a wii Just dance on). Also, we enjoyed cosmic bowling. Cosmic bowling is bowling with laser and back lights with popular music. Very fun! We did not stop celebrating with bowling, we went to see a movie. One of our favorite things to do. Souwan, my brother, friend and I saw Jack Ryan. A great action movie about a cia agent/compliance officer. It made me go to work ...
