tour of the nursery!

Here is Haylee's room!!   I have to say i'm proud of this room in our home. We put a lot of heart into our baby girl's nursery. We chose the Little Mermaid theme for color and décor inspiration. Almost every inch of this room was DIY. My husband and brother painted and put up the board and batten. Some of the décor was found at yard sales and repainted. The curtains were handmade using burlap fabric from Hobby Lobby. I give my husband huge credit in getting this accomplished. He took my inspiration and made it reality! A lot of hours after long days at work in the office were put into this room. Our daughter is so blessed to have a super dad like Souwan.     Wall color is ultra green from Lowe's Chandelier is from our friend Lara (Ikea) Wall monogram is coral painted, but we purchased it unpainted from Etsy Crib is a gift from my brother Lee (Walmart) Hope chest is a gift from our friend Gary (handmade) Rocking chair, Mermaid on the wall, she...

kiengkham's korner: memorial weekend

My husband and brother worked on Haylee's nursery. Forget the mess! We have a couple of weeks before we can move out the spare bedroom bed and dresser out to our new shed. YAY. I can't wait to move baby stuff in there!  They did a fantastic job! They added board and batten and some paint to the room. My husband also installed a pretty chandelier to the baby's room. Haylee's room is coming along very nicely and is better than our room. I need to think of updating our room! Our three day weekend started with a Family Fun Day at our church. We had a great time with face paint, games and hanging out with our church family/neighbors. After, Souwan finished phase one of the nursery we decided to take a day off and head to the pool. It was a beautiful day out! The water was very cool for the first day of pool season.   We are 29 weeks and Haylee is the size of a pineapple. We got results back from our sugar test, but not the news ...

kiengkham's korner: halloween + home

Our Halloween was spent at our church this year. Souwan and I joined our church family for trunk or treat. If you've never been to trunk or treat, well you're missing out on family fun. We had games at each trunk and lots of treats. Every trunk had a theme, just to name a few: gone fishing, a coffin, and ours was Alice in Wonderland's queen of hearts/tea party. It was a fantastic night and we enjoyed being with all of the kids. Our grocery trip this week was great! We got more items for our holiday parties. The gravy mix & pumpkin filling are great for the holiday parties ( I love making cupcakes with the pumkin filling for Thanksgiving).  I am thrilled about getting new eye shadows. Some of these items we will be giving away to charity. I'm really happy we will be able to give some of these items to a good cause. Here is our total, we spent before = $102.54 and after coupons = $19.20!!! It's been a while since I update you...

first home: garden update 6/10 -6/21

Our garden from June 10- June 21st. I know I say this every time, but our garden has grown so much! We were able to pick the cilantro and make one of my favorite hot chili sauce for chicken. Our summer lily and gladiolus have bloomed for the summer. We picked our lettuces and made salad for dinner too. Our Thai peppers, jalapeño, yellow pepper are looking beautiful. We have eight watermelons growing too! Souwan and I were able to pick the squash and zucchini and made a vegetable stir fry with them.  We have made lemonade garnished with mint for a delicious summer drink. It was very refreshing! Check back next week for another update, our garden continues to grow so fast. I can't wait to have peppers and watermelon soon!   Thanks for reading friends!
