column and cupcakes

I started out the week with terrible sinus/allergy sickness. I actually had to go see a doctor, which is pretty scary for me. I'm feeling much better now, new and improved! I didn't have a chance this weekend to take any outfit of the day, but i captured some outfits I wore this week. I had a pretty full schedule this week/weekend. A lot of wedding projects in the works. All my weekends are all full of wedding "to do". A friend of ours is honoring her mother and fundraising for Relay for life. A huge organization that supports cancer research and aid. She had a cupcake for cure event at SAS cupcakes-Ballantyne. I went out and bought several cupcakes to support her and to enjoy these amazing desserts! If you want to give, check MAF Angels out/Relay for life here . On a giving note: Souwan and I also attended  "end hunger" charity event Saturday, but I was ill and did not get photos =(.  It was fun for Souwan and I to be a part of these events. ...

wedding wednesday: confessions of a DIY bride

I never thought about being a DIY bride. I noticed after I got engaged how money was tight. Souwan and I didn't want to spend our savings and 401k all on a wedding. My parents and his chipped in a little, the rest was up to us. I should have started saving when I was a kid! I had never thought about linens, flatware, catering, and alcohol for a wedding. I was concerned with envisioning everything together. "Will it look tacky or will it be everything I thought it to be?" I feel like it will be a chaotic day. We are on a time crunch and I have little time to help setup. It concerns me how everything will turn out. Not knowing and having the nightmare of "what could be" is overwhelming and stressful. I have never help plan or plan any sort of party to this magnitude. I first thought it to be easy, but proved myself wrong. I have learned to be creative. If you like something you see, but can't afford it, be creative and try to re-create the look. My signs, ...

top notch trench

Spring showers have started in our area. I like it because I get to wear my paisley trench coat. Isn't it cute?! After having a greek salad at the restaurant last week, we decided to make our own. We bought a greek vinegrette for it and tzatziki dip for bread. It was a great salad! The dip tasted delish with the toasted bread. I don't eat a lot of veggies and fruits. I wanted to try a smoothie that had all of that. This Naked brand smoothie is really good! It's got apples, kiwi, broccli, parsley and more in it. It looks funky, but tastes sweet and not bitter like I thought it would. St. Patricks day was this past Sunday. I'm not Irish, but I wore green! (this is actually what I wore today) (sunday i wore green but did not get photos) cardigan: old navy top: thrift necklace: kohls belt: thrift skirt: express

outfit of the day: nailing neutrals

Sweater: Ralph Lauren long sleeve crew neck Shirt: Express button up Pearls: Gift Jegging: Rue 21 Boots: Target

grabbed a greek date

Last week was a busy one. Our office had a launch party and I was lucky to be behind the scenes helping out. I never knew the effort it takes to throw one. I juggled my daily job duties along with party duties. It was exhausting, but very fun. A lot of planning, organizing and thought goes into every detail. Where do we place the signs, flowers, balloons? How do we place them?! My partner and I worked together on these flower arrangements. We took a solo cup, tissue paper, and ribbon to create this elegant vase/holder for the roses. Solo cups! I love solo cups! Brilliant! My fiance took me on a lunch date Saturday. It's been a while since we did that, but we had a nice day out. It was so pretty and felt like spring outside! He took me out to a Greek place near our home. (I'm in love with Greek salads) The gyro and homemade Greek chips were fantastic. Afterwards, he took me to one of his favorite bakeries. It was a cute, New York style bakery. I adored the strawberry cheese...

ben's birthday bash (video)

Here is the video...finally! Last week I posted a post on Ben's birthday. I did not have the video ready, but here it is! I took so much footage, it took a while to edit. Enjoy!
