Kiengkham's Korner: we're starting a vegetable garden

I joined my husband and his co-workers to fundraise for the American Cancer Society. I gave a photography basket away (a free photo session and photo frames). Congrats to our winner! Souwan and I also joined in the basket contest. I am excited we won the movie Frozen basket! I just adore that movie so much!

I found five of these guys around the yard. Kind of funny they were in our yard before Easter! You think they are friends of the Easter bunny? LOL

Our Easter was very fun filled. We went to church and had breakfast with our friends. Best breakfast in town on Easter! I made muffins for breakfast and gave some to my husband's co-workers. I love blueberry muffins! I got some beautiful Easter Lilies to bring home to my grandmas, mom's, and for my house.

We have new plants in our yard. I told my husband we are going to have a botanical garden soon! Souwan and I planted more petunias. New to the yard are gladiolus and hydrangeas. Our lilies are starting to bloom and our pink azaleas have bloomed. I will try to take more photos, but here is our pink azaleas this past week. I hope to get the lilies soon!

I have started running again. I love to run, but it has been awhile! Hard to believe I did this 4 times a week before my wedding. I am trying to get a consistent routine going. I'm glad my husband has been running with me and keeping me motivated! We have been running in our neighborhood and I have really enjoyed it.

Our first vegetable garden is coming soon. Souwan and I have already got a few vegetable plants ready to go. We opted not to start from seed and start our garden with small plants. We are hoping to get cilantro, green onions, chili peppers and watermelon plants at our local garden store soon. Here we have tomato, squash, jalapeno, bell pepper, Thai basil, cucumber, and zucchini. I am very excited to grow these vegetables! I can't wait to make homemade tomato sauce and salsa. I believe this will save us money too! The squash and zucchini are super performers and will be great in our stir fry.

my look back on 2017

2017 was a fantastic year! Sorry but there are ton of photos. More than years past!! We did so much this year and I wanted to get it all in. I love documenting our memories and being able to look back, reflect and cherish all of these moments.  It is the best part of this blog. I LOVE being able to look at these photos and go back to that time for a second. It's so cool how you look at a photo and all these feelings from that moment flood back to you!! SO MUCH FUN! I hope ya'll had a great year as well and if not... there is much to look forward in the New Year! It's a new beginning!

I'm probably going to write a long blog so sorry!
Our year was full of so many joyful experiences. Our Winter, we received snow and Haylee got to go sledding for the first time. Haylee loved it and we had lot of fun with her. She did not want to come back inside. Souwan celebrated with a low key birthday at home with his new table grill. The Rowan Museum had an awesome exhibit on Cheerwi…

Nina + Bryan Meadow Creek Farm Wedding

We started the day with sun however we heard the rumbling thunder in the background during the ceremony and started to sprinkle during the reception. It was a humid September day and was sunny outside when I walked into the wedding venue. Bridesmaids laughter, sweet music, and popping of champagne were starting around the Bride's room. The girls were in their matching floral monogrammed robes and helping each other get their makeup done. They looked stunning!

My favorite part was their first look. Nina and Bryan have such a sweet relationship and they celebrated with so much love and joy through the day. I adored how sweet and caring they were during the day, he couldn't keep his eyes off of her during the first look. And she teared up, but had a huge smile standing with him during the first look. It was the best! I loved capturing them!!!

It was truly an honor to be capturing their day! It was such a beautiful wedding! Bryan and Nina were surrounded by so much love and joy fr…

Tips on taking a toddler to Disney World

I got some funny looks when I told people we were taking Haylee to Disney. I know some would say she is too small among many other things, however we did it! Did we get lucky? Maybe! She was the perfect age to ride the rides and meet the characters. Some people thought Disney would not have small rides for children, but maybe surprised that it's the best place for toddlers! The trip was so worth it! Haylee smiled and laughed the entire time. We made so many great memories and we can't wait to go back! If you're here to read all the details on how or what we did at Disney World then stick around!
What we packed:

-Disney clothes. We made our own shirts for the trip. Haylee wore a shirt with Minnie Ears and her monogram. It cost us only $12.  I also bought our Mickey ears from the Disney Store Outlet at the mall on sale for $7! They are around $20 at the parks. You could also purchase Disney character shirts at your local retail store. Buying shirts at Disney World can run y…
