first home: garden 5.17.14

If you noticed the date, these photos of my garden are from May 17th. The garden has definitely changed!  I have been behind on posting. Everything is blooming and growing very nicely. We don't have any vegetables for picking yet, but we hope to have somethings in a couple of weeks. I'll be out in my garden to take more photos for a better update, but here are photos from the week of May 17th.   My lilies have bloomed since the beginning of May.       The zucchini has grown more since this photo, but here they have too . I will have to get another update soon.     The peppers have grown taller since last post .     Cilantro are coming up nicely . Soon there will be a bush!     Our lettuce will soon be ready! Last time , there were only four small leaves.     When we came home from our cousin Tom's graduation we got a surprise. The string bean seeds we plan...

kiengkham's korner: wanted! cornhole tossers

I'm behind on blogging! Souwan and I attended our church's Vespers Service. An evening service at the park with good food and friends. We also had fun playing corn hole and some other park activities.    I lost in corn hole multiple times.   For Memorial weekend we stayed in town. It seemed like everyone left for the beach and we had the whole town! Our family came over for burgers and seafood and then we played in the park. I think it was a great start to our Summer! How was your week/weekend?

sneak peek: family photo session

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing this beautiful family. A really fun group to photograph. I loved taking these photos! I can't wait to finish working on them and sharing more. As I am working/editing these, I wanted to stop and share a few I am loving!

outfit of the day: park pair

What I wore: American Eagle gingham button up, Old Navy blue shorts, Payless turquoise wedges, Francesca's Collection aviators, necklace & pearl earrings were a gift What he wore: Green Vineyard Vines polo and blue sandals, Target seersucker shorts   In the spring/summer my husband and I love going to a park. We love getting out of the house to enjoy the outdoors. I adore this parks pond and bridge. We took a stroll and enjoyed lunch on this park adventure.

kiengkham's korner: dragon boat festival

My husband and some cousins went to the dragon boat festival at Lake Norman. We enjoyed prizes given out by vendors showcasing the many different Asian cultures. The best food to get at the festival is my Uncle No's teriyaki chicken kabobs. The line was wrapped around and we waited 30 minutes, but worth it! The pageant and fashion show are beautiful to watch. They look like royalty! This year I enjoyed watching the Karate show. The kids are very talented and I would not want to mess with any of them. It was a beautiful day at the lake for racing. I can never stay long enough to see the winners, but it was very competitive out there! I had fun hanging out with my family at the festival. It's annual, so go check it out next year!
