Lunar's Graduating

I met Lunar after church in downtown Salisbury for her Grad session. I love our downtown! I was really excited for a downtown session and ya'll I could take photos downtown ALL DAY!! So many cool backdrops!!! And with Lunar and the city we could have hung out and taken photos all day long!

It was a gorgeous day in our downtown. It was an late morning session and people were heading to lunch. Some people were leaving church. Lunar was so cool with people walking around us and I was giggling because some people were walking around downtown taking photos and selfies. I stuck out because I brought my handy little ladder to get some of the shots! We were right at home! Haha!

Lunar is so smart, sweet and has modeling skills in case she wants to add that to being Pre Med! She will be attending UNC after graduation, Go Heels!! I am so thrilled! I had so much fun just talking about the adventure she is about to embark on. She is so excited to be able rush to Franklin st after beating Duke, and who wouldn't?!!! We had a blast with photos and talking UNC. I could hang out with Lunar all day.

Strawberry patch at Patterson Farm

This turned out to be a great day for the Strawberry patch at Patterson Farm! It was cloudy but warm and perfect for picking strawberries. It was calling for rain but we didn't see a drop thankfully. This was an early Mother's Day trip for us. We have come to this farm every year to pick strawberries and i'm so glad we had another great trip!
Haylee told all of her friends she was going to the Strawberry patch and she was so excited! It's the perfect date or family outing. It's for everyone! Picking strawberries in the patch and having a homemade ice cream is a great way to spend quality time together. Hope you enjoy photos from our visit to Patterson Farm!

my look back on 2017

2017 was a fantastic year! Sorry but there are ton of photos. More than years past!! We did so much this year and I wanted to get it all in. I love documenting our memories and being able to look back, reflect and cherish all of these moments.  It is the best part of this blog. I LOVE being able to look at these photos and go back to that time for a second. It's so cool how you look at a photo and all these feelings from that moment flood back to you!! SO MUCH FUN! I hope ya'll had a great year as well and if not... there is much to look forward in the New Year! It's a new beginning!

I'm probably going to write a long blog so sorry!
Our year was full of so many joyful experiences. Our Winter, we received snow and Haylee got to go sledding for the first time. Haylee loved it and we had lot of fun with her. She did not want to come back inside. Souwan celebrated with a low key birthday at home with his new table grill. The Rowan Museum had an awesome exhibit on Cheerwi…

My 5 easy tips for Food Photography

Hi ya'll! I'm Lisa and (in case you didn't know). I'm the owner and photographer of Davong Marie Photography. I've been behind the camera lens since I was a kid and have a passion for all photography. Some is self taught, my aunt and the other is the couple of years of education from my coach KJ! My favorite to photograph is weddings and families however today I want to share my tips for photographing food. These are totally just my tips and not at all how you must do it. Photography is fun, artistic and expressive of who you are. There are so many styles and perspectives. Here are my 5 tips to photographing food:

1. Choose colors that work well together! Think about the color wheel or how you match your clothes. There are so many colors that pair well, my favorite is green and pink!

2. Try different angles. Think about how you see the subject or maybe how a bird sees your subject. My favorite angle to take of food is from the top! If you have something like a cake…
