North Carolina Fourth of July

Happy Birthday America! Souwan, Haylee and I had a wonderful time cooking out with family at home. I'm excited for watching the Capitol fireworks from the comforts of our couch because we are back at work tomorrow. We hope you and your family have a happy and safe 4th of July. I added photos from the Faith Fourth Fair and my nephew Jerwuan's VTO All American Challenge here. My sis in law and her family along with her sis in law and friends came to North Carolina to be a part of a training football camp. It was their first trip here. We were out there all weekend cheering the three boys while they played among 100 few other players. This is one of the top football camps to be in and we are so proud of all three who made top 5 in their group!! While they were in town we loved showing them North Carolina (in hopes that the boys would come play for one of the colleges here hahaha). Souwan and I took my daughter Haylee and my nephew Josh to the Faith Fair which is a huge tradition for everyone here. I love going to the Faith fair and is the best Fourth of July memory growing up. Josh had the best time and loved meeting everyone. He especially loved the Pirate ride. Haylee enjoyed the teacups and her favorite fishing game. Enjoy some of the photos! Happy Fourth ya'll!

Strawberry patch at Patterson Farm

This turned out to be a great day for the Strawberry patch at Patterson Farm! It was cloudy but warm and perfect for picking strawberries. It was calling for rain but we didn't see a drop thankfully. This was an early Mother's Day trip for us. We have come to this farm every year to pick strawberries and i'm so glad we had another great trip!
Haylee told all of her friends she was going to the Strawberry patch and she was so excited! It's the perfect date or family outing. It's for everyone! Picking strawberries in the patch and having a homemade ice cream is a great way to spend quality time together. Hope you enjoy photos from our visit to Patterson Farm!

my look back on 2017

2017 was a fantastic year! Sorry but there are ton of photos. More than years past!! We did so much this year and I wanted to get it all in. I love documenting our memories and being able to look back, reflect and cherish all of these moments.  It is the best part of this blog. I LOVE being able to look at these photos and go back to that time for a second. It's so cool how you look at a photo and all these feelings from that moment flood back to you!! SO MUCH FUN! I hope ya'll had a great year as well and if not... there is much to look forward in the New Year! It's a new beginning!

I'm probably going to write a long blog so sorry!
Our year was full of so many joyful experiences. Our Winter, we received snow and Haylee got to go sledding for the first time. Haylee loved it and we had lot of fun with her. She did not want to come back inside. Souwan celebrated with a low key birthday at home with his new table grill. The Rowan Museum had an awesome exhibit on Cheerwi…

My 5 easy tips for Food Photography

Hi ya'll! I'm Lisa and (in case you didn't know). I'm the owner and photographer of Davong Marie Photography. I've been behind the camera lens since I was a kid and have a passion for all photography. Some is self taught, my aunt and the other is the couple of years of education from my coach KJ! My favorite to photograph is weddings and families however today I want to share my tips for photographing food. These are totally just my tips and not at all how you must do it. Photography is fun, artistic and expressive of who you are. There are so many styles and perspectives. Here are my 5 tips to photographing food:

1. Choose colors that work well together! Think about the color wheel or how you match your clothes. There are so many colors that pair well, my favorite is green and pink!

2. Try different angles. Think about how you see the subject or maybe how a bird sees your subject. My favorite angle to take of food is from the top! If you have something like a cake…
