Christmas w/ the Kiengkhams: our holiday ornaments + festival of trees

It's our first Christmas together as husband and wife, but for a double dose of happiness it's our first Christmas together in our first home! Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I'm so happy to decorate our very own home.

In the other posts, we showed you our lights.Today I wanted to share our Christmas ornaments on our first tree. First, this tree was given to us by our friend. She was so sweet enough to give us this beautiful faux Kennedy fir tree. We decorated our first tree with our favorite plaid bows. These were handmade by us! Other handmade ornaments were given to us. The 2012 ornament is from a year ago, but I love it because of it being a handmade ornament from my brother. My friend Joann handmade the colorful sequin ornament, given to me as a birthday gift. I love sequins! Souwan's friend Brenda handmade the train with Santa. She is very talented and patient painting it. The two last ornaments, one is a classic glass holly ornament given by our neighbor. I was excited to finally meet her during elections. A brilliant lady and sweet neighbor. The last, but most important was our Mickey and Minnie ornament. We visited Disney World this past summer and got to visit Disney Downtown's Christmas store where we picked up this memorable ornament. It will always remind us of our first Christmas together and our wedding day.

A couple of weekends ago, my husband took me downtown to see the Festival of Trees. I am always up for going to our downtown to see the lights and Christmas festivities. It is such a beautiful time in our downtown. The Festival of Trees was held at our Trolley Barn. Schools and companies decorated trees in themes and were displayed for all of us to vote. I'm always impressed with the various themes. My husband and I enjoyed all of the trees and had a challenge voting for our favorite. It is also very fun to take your family too. Kids really enjoyed the themed trees. Take a look at some of the trees we saw. Maybe even guess the theme?

Calling the gods for snow on Christmas? Life imitating art? I'm not sure. Just us being us! Goofs.

outfit of the day: casual denim shorts and sperry's

what i wore: cynthia rowley tee, american eagle shorts, thrifted belt, juicy couture bracelet, belk's charm bracelet, old navy aviator shades, sperry's top-sider boat shoes. I wore this out for a few errands with the fiance. My car battery needed replacing, I have worn that thing out. Ex. leaving it on while taking naps during lunch. Don't do this ladies. Ha! This look is so comfy and definitely a repeat when I'm running around town.

outfit of the day: classic vest

what i wore: express button up, old navy vest, f21 jeans, gift boots.   Classic pieces stay for a lifetime. I have had this vest for a long time. Traditional yet in style. Not popular, but likable. A little bit of old fashion and tradition may not be popular, may go back "50 years" but this vest seems to never fade out of style for me.

outfit of the day: outdoor fall look

what i wore: gap long sleeve top, target jeggings and boots, belk's bag   I wore this to my cousin's birthday party. It was a lovely fall day, sunny and perfect cool weather for a game of corn hole. We also had lunch and drinks out on their patio. This outfit was great for the outdoor activities and a birthday gathering.     Thank you for reading. Have a lovely rest of the week!
