It all started with a date to Chili's 9 years ago. Our friends Geoff and Lori played match maker and Geoff even went to waffle house with us for our second date.
We were leaving for a trip in the morning to the Biltmore Estate and I had thought he was proposing there. He knew I would think that! He asked me to come out to the garden (at my mom's house) and asked me to marry him. I was surprised and had no clue. He did great.
We had a beautiful wedding day! One year has came so fast. I love looking back and smiling at our special day. I'm still grateful to everyone who shared our day and feel very blessed to be married to my best friend. Our first year of marriage has been full of adventures. We paid our SUV off, visited Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, bought a house, visited Edisto beach, shot bows and arrows, Souwan passed his professional human resources certification test, rode a horse, got 10 inches of snow fall, went ice skating, visited old stone & uwharrie winery, started a vegetable garden and I'm sure I missed something, but I'll leave it here. We have had some tough moments this year too. I'm the luckiest girl to have a husband like Souwan be there for support and hold my hand through all of the tough times. He is my anchor. It's been a great year as husband and wife. Happy Anniversary darling! I am excited for another and many more with him.
