kiengkham's korner: making it a mountain weekend

This past weekend my husband took me to the mountains. We had a picnic, hiked some small trails, and played football. It was a perfect weekend in the mountains. The mountains are so beautiful this fall season. The foliage has just begun and it's amazing.

On another note, we haven't shared our coupon savings in a while. We have reached our savings goal! After careful consideration, Souwan and I are going to hold off on getting a new heat pump and keep the money we have saved.

We are continuing to save. Our new goal is to save for a shed, a lawn mower and grass/sod for our yard.

On this trip to the store we spent $51.57 for $190.23 in groceries!

I was really excited to get the cheddar and bacon potatoes. With the holidays coming up, it will be perfect to feed our guests for Christmas. The halls cough drop is another exciting purchase because of the cold season upon us. Souwan tried the dole smoothie shakers and said they were really good. I can't wait to try it myself.

Nina + Bryan Meadow Creek Farm Wedding

We started the day with sun however we heard the rumbling thunder in the background during the ceremony and started to sprinkle during the reception. It was a humid September day and was sunny outside when I walked into the wedding venue. Bridesmaids laughter, sweet music, and popping of champagne were starting around the Bride's room. The girls were in their matching floral monogrammed robes and helping each other get their makeup done. They looked stunning!

My favorite part was their first look. Nina and Bryan have such a sweet relationship and they celebrated with so much love and joy through the day. I adored how sweet and caring they were during the day, he couldn't keep his eyes off of her during the first look. And she teared up, but had a huge smile standing with him during the first look. It was the best! I loved capturing them!!!

It was truly an honor to be capturing their day! It was such a beautiful wedding! Bryan and Nina were surrounded by so much love and joy fr…

my look back on 2017

2017 was a fantastic year! Sorry but there are ton of photos. More than years past!! We did so much this year and I wanted to get it all in. I love documenting our memories and being able to look back, reflect and cherish all of these moments.  It is the best part of this blog. I LOVE being able to look at these photos and go back to that time for a second. It's so cool how you look at a photo and all these feelings from that moment flood back to you!! SO MUCH FUN! I hope ya'll had a great year as well and if not... there is much to look forward in the New Year! It's a new beginning!

I'm probably going to write a long blog so sorry!
Our year was full of so many joyful experiences. Our Winter, we received snow and Haylee got to go sledding for the first time. Haylee loved it and we had lot of fun with her. She did not want to come back inside. Souwan celebrated with a low key birthday at home with his new table grill. The Rowan Museum had an awesome exhibit on Cheerwi…

outfit of the day: western denim shirt

What I wore:Andrew's Co. denim shirt, Old Navy shorts, Thrifted belt, Charming Charlie watch, Kay Jewlers pearl necklace, Belk's pearl earrings, Old Navy sunglasses, and Unisa sandals. (engagement ring: gift =) lol)

denim shirt by lisaanatha featuring short shorts
This denim shirt is very similar to J.Crew's western denim shirt here. (And pictured above) I'm not wearing the J.Crew's denim shirt, however I made an awesome find going through old boxes of clothes my mom had in her basement. A lot of clothing worn in the 80s and 90s are making it in today's fashion. I also found it humorous Zach and Kelly, from Saved by the Bell (show i loved from the 90s) , sported these denim shirt looks. Do you guys remember that?! Don't let go of this staple piece. I think it has been a summer trend, but it can easily transfer to fall and winter must haves too! In the winter I would wear this under a sweater for a warm, but chic look. Stay posted for that outfit of the day.…
