Kiengkham's Korner: The Late Big News

Souwan and I are so excited to officially announce on this blog we are expecting "Baby Kiengkham" this year aka Baby K.  It has been surreal up until the first ultrasound appointment when we heard the baby's heart beat.

We are so incredibly happy and bless with the overwhelming amount of support, advice and prayers.

Souwan and I found out a couple of weeks before Christmas. (December 2nd to be exact) Our first thoughts were "wow there is a tiny person growing!" "I can't believe we're going to be parents"

Our first doctor's appointment was to confirm it. It was exciting and awkward. I was hoping it wasn't a joke. I was nervous meeting the doctor's and nurses. The doctor gave me a bag full of information, booked my ultrasound and blood work. (Which both went very well) Unfortunately, the morning sickness medicine wasn't included. At 6 weeks food was not my best friend. However, peppermint and ginger ale helped until I could get a hold of some medicine.

We informed our family and friends the week of January 19th with the picture below.  It was extremely hard not to share the news with everyone because it's just a joyous moment and you want to scream it at the top of your lungs.  It is common for most couples to wait until after the first trimester to announce the big news.
Souwan is definitely more excited then he shows.  He reads all the paperwork from the doctor's office, checks my pregnancy apps on daily basis, tries to make sure I eat healthy, puts reminders for appointments on my phone, cooks so I don't have to get sick smelling the food, and the list goes on. He is my rock!

Words cannot explain how excited we are.  A lot of changes are in store for the next couples months, but we're so excited for it all! I'll keep you updated on my pregnancy, renovation of the nursery and so much more! :)

Strawberry patch at Patterson Farm

This turned out to be a great day for the Strawberry patch at Patterson Farm! It was cloudy but warm and perfect for picking strawberries. It was calling for rain but we didn't see a drop thankfully. This was an early Mother's Day trip for us. We have come to this farm every year to pick strawberries and i'm so glad we had another great trip!
Haylee told all of her friends she was going to the Strawberry patch and she was so excited! It's the perfect date or family outing. It's for everyone! Picking strawberries in the patch and having a homemade ice cream is a great way to spend quality time together. Hope you enjoy photos from our visit to Patterson Farm!

my look back on 2017

2017 was a fantastic year! Sorry but there are ton of photos. More than years past!! We did so much this year and I wanted to get it all in. I love documenting our memories and being able to look back, reflect and cherish all of these moments.  It is the best part of this blog. I LOVE being able to look at these photos and go back to that time for a second. It's so cool how you look at a photo and all these feelings from that moment flood back to you!! SO MUCH FUN! I hope ya'll had a great year as well and if not... there is much to look forward in the New Year! It's a new beginning!

I'm probably going to write a long blog so sorry!
Our year was full of so many joyful experiences. Our Winter, we received snow and Haylee got to go sledding for the first time. Haylee loved it and we had lot of fun with her. She did not want to come back inside. Souwan celebrated with a low key birthday at home with his new table grill. The Rowan Museum had an awesome exhibit on Cheerwi…

My 5 easy tips for Food Photography

Hi ya'll! I'm Lisa and (in case you didn't know). I'm the owner and photographer of Davong Marie Photography. I've been behind the camera lens since I was a kid and have a passion for all photography. Some is self taught, my aunt and the other is the couple of years of education from my coach KJ! My favorite to photograph is weddings and families however today I want to share my tips for photographing food. These are totally just my tips and not at all how you must do it. Photography is fun, artistic and expressive of who you are. There are so many styles and perspectives. Here are my 5 tips to photographing food:

1. Choose colors that work well together! Think about the color wheel or how you match your clothes. There are so many colors that pair well, my favorite is green and pink!

2. Try different angles. Think about how you see the subject or maybe how a bird sees your subject. My favorite angle to take of food is from the top! If you have something like a cake…
