apple picking season

I haven't posted on here in a month! I kid you not my list of to dos has gotten very long. With the holidays it means more things to do, however i'm thankful because it means some great content/photos are coming soon! I'll try not to curl up in a ball and get overwhelmed.

I skipped the post on our Charleston trip, but I will post those up. I took so many photos so I will try and pick my favorites out to post soon! Hope everyone is safe there! It saddens me to see all of the news on hurricane Matthew.

Here are photos from our trip to Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, NC. It was our first family trip to the apple orchard and hopefully not our last. Haylee loves apples and she had a blast picking her apples! She has gotten really great at following directions. She would pick the apple and put them in her bucket. (of course she did quality testing on some of the apples)

Who knew there were soooooooo many apples!!! There were so many different apples to choose from! Souwan and I packed some for snacks, baked apple pies, and made apple fritters. I think we might turn into apples after eating all of them. At the orchard they sold apple cider donuts and apple cider EVERYTHING! We loved the donuts! Haylee enjoyed an apple cider slushie and apple juice in an apple bottle!! Apple for days!!!! LOL

Souwan and I did not know what to expect our first time apple picking. We were not prepared. For others we could tell this was not there first time. They had wagons, water, carriers, and ladders. The weather was very warm for Fall and we got overwhelmed very quick. Our long hike for Asian pears turned into a gold mine and we brought back a bunch of pears!  Even though it was warm and the trees were still the lush green, I loved the mountain views! There is nothing like it!

Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I had fun photographing every moment of it.

my look back on 2017

2017 was a fantastic year! Sorry but there are ton of photos. More than years past!! We did so much this year and I wanted to get it all in. I love documenting our memories and being able to look back, reflect and cherish all of these moments.  It is the best part of this blog. I LOVE being able to look at these photos and go back to that time for a second. It's so cool how you look at a photo and all these feelings from that moment flood back to you!! SO MUCH FUN! I hope ya'll had a great year as well and if not... there is much to look forward in the New Year! It's a new beginning!

I'm probably going to write a long blog so sorry!
Our year was full of so many joyful experiences. Our Winter, we received snow and Haylee got to go sledding for the first time. Haylee loved it and we had lot of fun with her. She did not want to come back inside. Souwan celebrated with a low key birthday at home with his new table grill. The Rowan Museum had an awesome exhibit on Cheerwi…

Strawberry patch at Patterson Farm

This turned out to be a great day for the Strawberry patch at Patterson Farm! It was cloudy but warm and perfect for picking strawberries. It was calling for rain but we didn't see a drop thankfully. This was an early Mother's Day trip for us. We have come to this farm every year to pick strawberries and i'm so glad we had another great trip!
Haylee told all of her friends she was going to the Strawberry patch and she was so excited! It's the perfect date or family outing. It's for everyone! Picking strawberries in the patch and having a homemade ice cream is a great way to spend quality time together. Hope you enjoy photos from our visit to Patterson Farm!

Charlotte NC Engagement- Maurice + KaShara

Although we had overcast weather and it was in the 60s, this engagement session turned out to be the best! There wasn't any wind and these two are wonderful! Souwan, Haylee and I drove out to the Noda area of Charlotte to meet with Maurice and KaShara at Amelie's. I had a wonderful time getting to know all about the two of them and details about their upcoming fall wedding. As soon as KaShara and Maurice walked in with huge smiles and hugs, I knew this was going to be a great couple to work with! I have known Maurice since college and was so thrilled that they reached out to me on Instagram. I easily fell in love with KaShara and just knew this is a match! We went out to Noda and our old college stomping ground Frazier Park behind Johnson & Wales. Noda is filled with really great places to photograph from all the beautiful buildings and the artistic work! Frazier Park brought back memories for all of us! They have the cutest furbabies who they used to bring to Frazier. I l…
