Souwan, a laundry snob

My boss is expecting his second child, a girl! After work the girls showered the happy family with gifts and food.I was in charge of decor and I think I have potential in being a florist =)   Date night! Souwan and I got Zaxby's and watched movies. I got boneless buffalo and it's very sweet and spicy, not my preference. The "things" was very good, try it!(ordered hot). I took my dad to try on suits and get measured for our wedding. He liked the blue suit he is sporting in this photo. He looks sharp! My mom, lee, souwan and I all went out to Sam's Club. They have outdoor furniture on display, it got me anxious for Spring/Summer time! My IPhone has a new case cover. The monogram is my soon to be intials "LAK". You're probably thinking why so early, not married yet? I didn't want to get another one in 4 months, that's why =) For lunch on Sunday we ate sliders. Staying healthy, but still getting in a burger. For Valenti...

wedding wednesday: groom's and groomsmens' tux shopping

This past Saturday I joined the groom and some of the groomsmen/ushers to shop for tuxes. We are at the four month mark til our big day! This is usually the time to start looking for what your groom and groomsmen will wear. I was not expecting so many different combos with tuxes! They had several color combos and different jackets the guys could choose from. We did a lot of mix and matching. Note: If you are about to go look for suits/tuxes take about 1 to 2 hours of your day reserved for it. Take a look below! Our "models" is the groom himself and our usher/cousin Jay. The many types of jackets in men's wearhouse is crazy, but awesome for a formal event, like a wedding! Look #1 White Jacket & Black Bow Tie Look #2 White Jacket, Black Vest, Black Bow Tie Look #3 White Jacket (different lapel), White Vest, and Black Bow Tie Look #4 White Jacket, Red Bow Tie, Red Hankerchief Look #5 Grey Jacket, Black Bow Tie Look #6 White "Dinner" ...

Super Bowl Party

I found this while shopping at a local store for a steal...$1.00 and it smells JUST like Victoria Secret. I changed my hair color! I had a fombre (fake ombre lol) hair color. My uncle embarrassed me so I thought it was time for a change. I colored it a dark brown, but it looks jet black. I forget what brand it was, but you can get it at any drugstore. My fave products to use right now. I use neutral colors everyday and like my lashes to pop. My go to right now are these products. The smokey palette neutral colors (brand n/a) and the Maybelline Great lash curved brush. I like the curved brush, it gets to all of my lashes.A con would be applying too much, it will be clumpy very quickly. I was shopping in Target for my cousin Ben's 4th birthday present. It's really hard to shop for him. He enjoys his tablet, but I wanted to go old fashion with toys. I'm bit of a nerd, but I like this Batman toy. It was the size of me (not a very tall person)! I would have loved thi...

outfit of the day: plaid about you

what i wore: gifted cardigan, ann taylor blouse, thrifted plaid skirt, n/a leggings, rack room brown boots, dooney and bourke purse (thrifted!) Plaid is one of my favorite patterns to wear. If I could have a plaid item in every color it would be a dream come true! I love gingam, which I think is in the same family. It never fades. Plaid has come back on suits, blazers, coats and more. It can be transformed from dressy to casual. Plaid is now fashionable rather than being just a lumber jack everyday wear! Would you wear plaid? Thanks for reading! xoxo Lisa

weekly wrap up: goodbyes and birthdays

Before the nasty ice storm hit our area, I bravely went out into the icey weather. I picked up a cake for my co-worker/friend Kyle. We learned earlier in the week he has bieber fever after watching his televised movie. I have not seen it, but Kyle says good things about it. Ha! The ice started pouring down on my way into work and got worst into the day. We got less than an inch of ice, but driving on it was very tricky. I was able to leave work early. I had learned earlier in the week that my Great Uncle Ny had passed. It was a very sad moment for me. I remember the stories of how much he picked on me. He had a sense of humor that I will never forget. I know his laugh, it's engraved into my memory. His son and daughter look so much like him. It was comforting. "He lived a long and happy life", his son said to all of his family and friends who attended the funeral. His son could not hold in his sadness and neither could we. As our uncle cried, we did as well. He...
