making it casual

Dress: Belk's Belt: Thrift Boots: Gift Jewelry: Touch of Glamour  I wore this dress back in October to a wedding. An interesting way to bring this back for a casual look is to pair it with a belt and boots. This is different from any other pictures I have taken. FYI, there was some playing around with software/technology. I am terrible with technology. This is me, trying to learn. Please share any helpful tips! In this photo I removed the background. Before it was just white drapery. On another note: The bf and I had a fun date at home this past weekend. We stayed in watching The Big Bang Theory and made pizza. We did a his and her pizza (split the pizza crust in half because both were wanting different types of pizza)  and it turned out delicious. In a relationship there has to be compromise!

Makeup Monday: Revlon lip butters

A reader asked me to do some reviews on make up products.  I'm happy to!  Anything you guys  want to see/read, let me know.  I will try my best! One of my recent purchases was the Revlon color burst lip butters.  I purchased two colors, peach parfait and berry smoothie.  The lip butters come in a variety of colors, 20 different colors approximately.  I love the variety of colors this product comes in! The formula moisturise the lips and hydrates them.  They glide on the lips smoothly- just like butter.  The color is somewhat sheer to medium.  I think more medium is accurate.  I would not put his in the same category as a lip balm or chap stick.  These do not have any wax like substance, which is usually in lip balms and/or chap sticks to seal in moisture.  I could be wrong on this, but they do not feel the same to me.  I do choose wearing the lip butters over my EOS lip balm and blistex chap stick on a daily ba...

update

I have been on a hiatus for some time. (explanation: I had put too much on my plate and exhausted myself) I wanted to give all of you an update/pics on what I have been up to. I did keep all of you in mind ^_^. I met up with some old college friends for a housewarming party. It had been a long time since spending time with them. It was so nice to catch up with all of them and be nostalgic. Dina came down to visit. While she was here we did a lot of junk food eating and went to a club/bar. It made me aware of my age. I cannot do this on a daily basis. College days are behind me. Instead I have traded dancing in heels and shots for chilling on the couch drinking a glass of wine. Much more my speed. For those who can still do it, I admire you. (had the exlim camera) I had date night with the bf. We went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. I loved it!! One of my fave Disney movies ever! (blurry because it's from the phone camera) I helped host a duo babyshower. With a...

kill the bill

A co-worker brought to my attention about SOPA. For those of you who are not aware of this bill- It is a bill that congress is trying to pass (including PIPA) that requires internet censorship. Reddit, Wikipedia, Wordpress and Google (possibly Facebook-announcement tomorrow) will be protesting tomorrow by blacking out there website and/or showing support in some other way. Instead of shutting my blog down- I thought to show support by bringing this issue to light for others. Sorry students, you will have to write your own papers/projects by using the LIBRARY! Ok that was a joke for all of you who might attack me on this.  Although, I do not support piracy, this bill is much more than that. Much More! To summarize: This would give the  government the authority to block access/shut down any site or link that posts copyright material. The bill also requires search engines such as Google and others to enforce this. However, I am...

OOTD: plaid and toggle

Jacket: Old Navy Plaid Shirt: Gift Pants: Marshalls Jewlery: Gift Boots: Target This was a laid back look for the weekend. I was out getting groceries. I am looking forward to this weekend. Going to spend some time with some old and new friends! Going back to fashion...Did we all see Jason Wu will be joining the Target family?! His line comes out next month. I'm very excited, but expect to see everything sell off the rack quickly. Hopefully I can get my hands on some of the dresses that I have seen! Click here to take a look.

the boyfriend style

Jacket: Ralph Lauren Cardigan: Old Navy Plaid Shirt: American Eagle Pants: Old Navy The boyfriend was not too thrilled with having to pose for pictures. I really adore my boyfriend's style. It's actually how he caught my attention. I saw this guy making a speech, walked into class late, and was like who is he? And where did he get his clothes?!! LOL. His humor and intellect kept me. Oh the following message is sooo true! And thank you to my parents and his for raising us right! ^_~

mondays with mark: a fresh faced look

Not ready, but okay sure lol. I was trying to take pics...however I felt like being goofy instead. Face: mark concealer & mark Min-A-Real Cream-To-Powder Foundation with Mineral Pigments Eyes: I-Mark on the dot neutral palette Loreal Mascara Cheeks: Mark clutch palette Lips: Revlon Lip butter in berry  This is my daily look right now. A fresh faced, minimul makeup look. To create a fresh face look: apply concealer under the eyes, any imperfections and blend. Then apply powder foundation all over face. Then apply blush on the apples of your cheeks, don't apply on cheekbone just the apples. Apply Mascara, nude lipgloss, and nude eyeshadow.

FOTD: deja blue

Eyes: Victoria's Secret beauty rush in deja blue and Mark. I-Mark in Glitterati. Cheeks: NARS Orgasam Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait I wore this look for dinner. I'm not much a fan of this look. I liked it more on the young lady that inspired it. I'm more into neutral colors, so putting this bold blue on was out of the box. The blue shadow on the bottom of my eyes gave the eyes depth. May not be wearing this look anymore. Happy Friday All!

OOTD: jcrew look

sweater: F21 collar shirt: Express skirt: F21 belt: thrift I have not been out long enough to get an outfit post done. I've been on holiday vacation time which equals laziness. Now I have been getting back to work and back on routine. Next week should be better!  It is really difficult getting back to a routine. This look was done before the holiday season was over. Reason for the holiday backdrop. It is inspired by a look I saw from J.Crew. Sorry no picture of that. It was a grey dress and white collar shirt. Happy Wednesday! The work week is almost over! We live for the weekends.

working on my goals

If you read my last post, you would know that one of my many goals/resolutions for 2012 is to eat healthy and be healthy. Today was my first day on new choice of food and exercise. I ate a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And proudly did not reach for the bag of chips in the cabinet/vending machine. Yay! I started a food diary/journal to keep track of my eating habits and carb/fat intake. If you would like to do that as well the link is below. It is a free online journal. Don't cheat ^_^ It will only hurt you! Sparkpeople-Food Journal I finished the day by making myself exercise by doing 30 minutes of cardio. Usually I would pass it off by making an excuse. My excuse would be "i'm too tired" or "i'm too pissed off and deserve a treat". Well honestly, I was both and still did 30 minutes of cardio. I'm so proud of myself! Let's keep this going!! If you need someone to help you in your goals (NC area) a good friend Tiffany can ...
